Got Milk Is Gone – Famous Ad Campaign is Retired
After almost 20 years, The Milk Processor Education Program is retiring “Got Milk?” one of the most iconic taglines in advertising history. The line created by Goodby Silverstein & Partners has been used masterfully in humorous television commercials, star-studded print campaigns and even online games.
The new line that will replace “Got Milk?” will be “Milk Life,” an effort created by Campbell Ewald, New York, centered on the idea that milk is high in protein. While we know millions of American’s love their milk, Milk Life may be trying to, well, milk a turn of phrase just a bit too much. Regardless, the creative effort behind Milk Life is visually arresting.
In tribute to the passing of one of America’s classic ad campaigns, we give you this small retrospective of some of our favorite Got Milk? classics.
